Case example: UV Smart D45

UV Smart D45
The UV Smart D45 is an advanced disinfection device designed specifically for the healthcare industry that disinfects ultrasonic probes quickly, automatically and traceably using UV-C light. This process minimizes the use of water, chemicals and consumables, which is both cost-effective and environmentally friendly.

The immediate high-level, consumable-free disinfection process helps reduce the risk of infections, including STDs and HPV spread, ensuring both infection control and sustainability.

Interfaces
This product revolves around the interfaces to the outside world and safety. The first interface is to the user of the system, for this a suitable TFT screen is chosen by means of ‘optical bonding’ mounted on a cover glass. A barcode reader and an NFC reader are mounted on the same cover glass. This creates a nicely finished whole. For user interaction, an extensive GUI flow was determined for both the daily user and the service engineer.

The collected data from user and disinfected probes is provided to the hospital network through the network interface.

The safety of this machine is also critical. Because UV-C light is used to disinfect probes, it is important that there is no human contact with the light. To prevent this, several sensors are used which are constantly monitored during the disinfection process.

Final result
Betronic is proud to contribute with this development to patient patient safety and workflow efficiency.
